Inspired by Rafael Manríquez’ varied songbook, we will be hosting a celebration of music from South America, with melodies from Chile, rhythms from the Andes and touches of rock and jazz, featuring troubadour extraordinaire- Eduardo Peralta visiting from Chile, the Bay Area’s Duamuxa with Marci Manriquez & Ricardo Valdivieso and friends Axel Herrera, Daniel Oñate, Flavia Cerviño-Wood and Harold Carr, from New Mexico our bro Manuel Manriquez with Bonifacio Silas, Ellen Moore and Jennifer Manriquez, and Rafa’s nietas Camila, Morgan and Danielle Valdivieso. Our dear friend Carlos Baron will be the master of ceremonies with anecdotes and stories galore.
Rafael’s undeniably sublime poetry and sound in songs like “Quisiera” left an indelible mark on our musical experience. Today, we are thrilled to share a small part of his compositions played by virtuosos like Harold Carr on the bass, Axel Herrera on percussion, Daniel Oñate on winds and guitar, Flavia Cerviño-Wood on violin, and Duamuxa- Marci Manriquez voice and Ricardo Valdivieso rhythm guitar.

here’s a glimpse of our program back a few years…
“Eduardo Peralta is an outstanding Chilean singer/songwriter. He composes beautifully melodic songs, sometimes romantic, sometimes humorous - he writes the lyrics himself, and they are often extremely witty. With his singing and playing he can convey a broad range of feelings and moods: he is also an excellent guitar player. “ - M. Joseph, jazz musician and listener
Seriously funny, down to earth, deeply poetic… Eduardo takes us on a journey of laughter and thoughtfulness in his celebration of 40 years of music…
